The Last One!

This is my last blog post...on this blog. I'm going to go private, so if you'd like to be invited feel free to leave a comment, email me, facebook me, whatever.

I haven't blogged in 3 months and a lot has happened. A LOT. I mean my baby turned one and the other turned 3. What mother doesn't blog about that?! I don't even have that good of an excuse (no, I'm not pregnant).

We have, however, entered a new and exciting time in our lives. We've moved to a new town and started a new job. Therefore, I feel this is a great time for me to start a new blog. Before I do that though I'll do this last post about the things I've missed (that I actually took pictures of).

1. Grandma Hendrix's Funeral. My Grandmother passed away at the end of June. Her funeral was beautiful. All of her grandchildren (except the boys on missions - we missed Miles!) were able to make it into town and it was nice to reminisce as a family. Derek and Greyson were there somewhere :).

2. Whitaker Family Reunion. The same weekend as the funeral Kent and Carmae's family had a reunion. We weren't able to be in two places at once but had so much fun while we were there. We got some awesome shirts out of it (Lyle is quite the artist) and the kids were so tired each night after having so much fun.

3. Greyson Turned 1! When Raegan turned one I made her a cute cake but I was very disappointed that it wasn't messy and I didn't get a great pic of her destroying her cake. I vowed to do better with the next kid. Mission accomplished!

4. Raegan Turned 3! I made Raegan this cake which also had 4 ombre purple layers inside. I didn't take any pics though. Both kids were spoiled on their birthdays and I can't believe how fast they've grown up.

Bon Voyage Elder Adams!

Exactly 3 weeks ago Uncle Miles entered the MTC (Missionary Training Center) to prepare for his 2-year mission to Paris, France. The kids and I tagged along as my parents took him to Utah to drop him off. It was a quick trip. Left Monday morning and came home Wednesday night. We spend a lot of time in the car, but the kids did just fine. Raegan learned to pee on the rocks and Greyson was in heaven watching 6 hours of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (now I have 2 kids obsessed). We got to see a lot of our family that live in Utah and Idaho, especially Aunt Whitney and Uncle Cody. We ate good food, went shopping, and then got down to business. We drove up to the MTC and literally dropped off Uncle Miles. Took 2 minutes and off he went. The church sure is efficient (and true). Miles is going to be a great missionary. I already can't wait til Christmas just so I can hear him speak French! We'll sure miss him. Click on my side bar to follow his blog.

Growing Up

So my kids are growing up. Fast. Really fast. Too fast. Raegan in now potty trained and Greyson is walking. No more babies around here. Greyson's too big to be considered a baby anymore.  And Raegan all of a sudden seems so grown up to me. When did this happen?

I'm so happy she's potty trained. It really wasn't that hard. We just spent hours sitting on the bathroom floor each day. But once she wanted to do it she was accident free pretty quickly. I love how she crosses her legs so daintily. Of course she's anything but that. Especially since she just takes off her pants and underwear when she has to go...no matter where she is (like in Sacrament meeting this Sunday). We are still working on the concept of just pulling them down and pulling them back up.

So today Raegan found the pasta in the pantry and started eating it. She's done this once before. It turns out she really does like it. She probably ate 25 sticks of spaghetti today. Weird. Anyone else have kids who do this?
Greyson is so fast. I've never seen a baby so dang quick. He even has a bear crawl that's speedy. He can walk across the room now but he can't quite stand up on his own though he's really close. He's just started to open the cupboards and he loves to play in the toilet (not cool). He is just so stinkin cute, enough said!

2012 Family Pictures

My cousin Kade Schank took our family pictures and they turned out beautiful. It's really hard to take pictures with a baby and a 2 year-old, but totally worth it. These are the only professional pictures I've had taken of Greyson. The poor middle child inevitably gets neglected right? Here are some of my favorites and now I can finally hang some pictures in our home (that we've lived in for 10 months now).

Road Trip

So I'm a little crazy and decided it would be fun to take the kids on a road trip by myself. We drove like 1500 miles in 5 days and spent almost an entire day in the car. Luckily I had a lot of help and I have great kids. They did awesome in the car. Thank goodness for DVD players. They are lifesavers for sure. We left Wednesday afternoon and drove to Utah with my cousin Amy to see Grandma and Grandpa Adams and Uncle Garrett. Thursday we went to Temple Square and the City Creek Mall all afternoon. I promised Raegan we would go see the Temple which of course she kept calling a castle. We met up with Lisa and Adalynn, Jenny, Mason, and Logan, Scott, and we even got to see Heather and Whit for a little bit. It is so hard to take a picture of a 2 year old and a baby who can crawl. It's even harder to take a pictures of 3 kids under the age of 4 (we tried all 5 kids at one point but that didn't work at all). Grandma bribed them with some Coke which helped.
(don't worry, Grandma has a hold of his legs) Adalynn (almost 3), Mason (4), Raegan
Later that night we went and saw Aunt Whitney and Uncle Cody's new house (so nice) and then we went out to dinner to celebrate Grandma Adams' 50th (or was it her 30th) birthday. I forgot to take a picture though. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Friday we left for the second half of our trip and drove to Las Vegas with Garrett. I was so excited to see Jamie and Andy. We miss them a lot and they were so nice to let us crash there for the weekend. We met up with the Kelvington's and went to Cafe Rio (I so wish we had one in Reno - best deal for your money hands down) and Neilson's. The kids did not want to go to sleep that night after sleeping a lot in the car and did not sleep very long (Greyson woke at 5:45). But we were determined to have a good time so Saturday we went to the mall where we saw some bunnies and played on the escalator. Later we went and got lunch and played at the park. Then we went home and dyed Easter eggs. This was my favorite part of the trip. Raegan and Sammy are too cute. It took them a little while to get used to one another (Sammy: "Raegan, Stop Talking!") but then they played together great. Just like old times.
There are bunnies in there.
Remember last year when we died Easter Eggs. Well Raegan didn't disappoint this year either. She seriously loves to eat vinegar. And not just a little bit. She just kept dipping her finger in and licking it over and over again. I know, Ewww! On the trip home Uncle Garrett picked out some salt and vinegar chips. Raegan didn't eat a single one, but she did suck the salt and vinegar off each and every chip. Gross!
Greyson is such a good baby. Have I said that before? He and Reese were content to crawl around the house and kept themselves pretty entertained. Saturday night the kids were soooo tired. They were asleep at 8 and slept all night. Jamie and I even got to go to the grocery store by ourselves (doesn't happen often enough). And Sunday morning we stopped by Blake and Courtney's for a few minutes and played with their lizard Lorenzo. Raegan really like him. We got home to Fallon and had a wonderful Easter dinner and even a little egg hunt. It was great to finally see Daddy again. We missed him a lot. Overall it was a tiring trip, but totally worth it. Thanks to everyone for helping us out (especially you, Andy!). I'm so glad we went!
